Description: This lovely 37 year old woman presents after having breast augmentation from a so-called "cosmetic surgeon". The results from her initial surgery are obviously disappointing. She had implants placed in breasts that were ptotic (droopy) despite this fact the "cosmetic" surgeon did not perform a mastopexy (lift) which was clearly necessary. This patient was unhappy and requested correction. This involved removing the implants, removing the scar tissue capsule around the implants and closing the space so that proper healing could take place. A mastopexy (breast lift) was then performed and she is now seen at ONLY ONE WEEK after surgery totally ecstatic about her results!!! She desired to be slightly smaller C/D to C cup) and had her implants size reduced from 340 cc to 280 cc using Allergan Natrelle,smooth, round, silicone gels. Minimal bruising is almost completely resolved and the scars will fade over time like all scars do. This is an excellent example showing how important it is to not violate the natural boundaries of the breast so that the attractive and natural curves and contours can be preserved. When you are researching please be so very careful who you choose. If doctors says they are "cosmetic surgeons" they may be unable to show reputable credentials, may not have accredited hospital privilages and operate only out of their own private facility. Only surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic surgery are acknowledged by the american board of medical specialties and are fully trained to perform plastic surgery on the entire body.
