Description: This 50 year old woman presented with deformities to both breasts as a result of migration and capsular contracture of silicone gel implants placed by another surgeon in 1986. Unfortunately, the patient also had severe ptosis (drooping), asymmetry revealing a much larger right breast, and a pre-existing breast constriction (incomplete development/narrowing of the breast) and would have probably benefited from a breast lift at the original surgery rather than the placement of implants alone. The original implants were ruptured but were contained within the capsule - which was also totally removed. She had absolutely no problems related to the ruptured implants. After a mastopexy (lift), the right breast was filled with a McGhan style 40 260cc smooth, round, gel implant and a 320 cc implant was used on the left after removal of the scar tissue and reconstruction of the implant pockets. She went from a B to a C cup. Mild assymetry is still noted but is related to the severe breast constriction (narrowing) what she was born with.
