Travel for Plastic Surgery – London, New York, Los Angeles, The Netherlands – Travel for Plastic Surgery to Michigan

Long-Distance / Easy Consultation

Travel from London, New York, Los Angeles, The Netherlands and beyond for plastic surgery performed by Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Michigan Dr M Kayser.

We understand that it is often inconvenient, time-consuming and expensive for patients to fly to our St Clair Shores Michigan office for a consultation then fly back again a few weeks later for surgery. We invest a lot of time and energy into our out of town patients because we know they often travel great distances to see us. We have designed a program to facilitate your experience that will allow you to determine the options that are available to you with ease and understanding.

The first step is to call or e-mail our office in St Clair Shores Michigan. You will be greeted by one of our wonderful staff members who will make sure that you are well-informed about the procedures and help you with all your questions to make this process as easy as possible for you. You will be asked to fill out our new patient information packet and all other pertinent forms and return them to our office via fax or email. We will have you provide (either via email or mail) us with photographs of yourself so that board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr. M Kayser can evaluate your needs and desires individually.

When you decide to have your surgery with board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr. M Kayser, we will send you all the pre-operative instructions, paperwork and consents necessary for surgery. You will be asked to complete this paperwork and obtain the required lab work. Those results need to be in our office no less than one week prior to your surgery date. Our Patient Coordinator will contact you and review all of your pre-operative instructions with you prior to your departure. Please provide clear, recent close-up photos. Photos should clearly show your areas of concern and include frontal, oblique (angled 45 degrees) and side views.

These can be sent regular mail or e-mailed to our office. Once all medical and photo information are received, board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr. M Kayser will then have a personal consultation with you. While on the phone with you a determination will then be made if you are a good candidate for the procedures that you are interested in. Your evaluation will be as thorough and as detailed as if you met doctor Kayser in person and all your questions will be answered fully. A surgical plan will then be created. In many cases, board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr Kayser will need some preoperative blood work, as well an x-ray or EKG, and in some cases, preoperative “clearance” from your personal physician. For those patients with significant medical issues who have already obtained medical clearance, they will be asked to arrive several days earlier to meet a local internist that can assist in their management.

Fly in for Surgery

Many people travel to Detroit Michigan each year for a plastic surgery procedure performed by Dr Kayser. Because of this unique experience to help people from London, New York, Los Angeles, The Netherlands and all regions of the world, board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr. M Kayser’s entire staff is accustomed to meeting the needs of out of town patients. In particular, his surgical coordinator will help you as necessary with travel arrangements, transfers, hotels, preoperative clearance, and your postoperative care. Plan on arriving one or two days before the scheduled surgery as doctor Kayser will want to see you in person before your plastic surgery date to review your case and to complete your examination and consultation. If at the time of your visit board certified Michigan plastic surgeon Dr. M Kayser decides that you would not be a good candidate for the surgery, your payment will be returned to you and surgery will not be performed.

In addition to your paperwork and laboratory tests, our Patient Coordinator will assist you in arranging lodging accommodations, nursing care and transportation (to and from the airport and/or hotel), if you so desire. We have relationships with many of the local resorts and hotels and can book your stay for you. If you are traveling with family or friends, we also could book you a condo close to our office. Simply, let us know how we can assist you and we will do everything possible to accommodate your needs.

On your surgery day, you will be in the hands of a board certified Michigan plastic surgeon and his experienced surgical team. We will ask that you have a responsible adult pick you up and stay with you for the first 24 hours. If you are traveling alone, we can make arrangements for an extended care service (see below) to take you back to your hotel, stay with and care for you and bring you back for your post-operative appointment. (The length that we will ask you to stay will depend on which procedure(s) you are having done.)
